Disbarred attorney Arlene Beckford has been acquitted of fraud charges.
Miss Beckford was found not guilty of fraudulent conversion in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court last Friday following a long-delayed trial.
She was arrested and charged by the police for allegedly diverting $2.4 million owed to two of her clients for her personal use.
A report was also made to the General Legal Council and in January last year, a disciplinary panel found Miss Beckford guilty of professional misconduct.
The panel recommended that she should be struck off the list of attorneys authorised to practice in Jamaica.
