Domicem makes major donation to flood victims
Help is on the way for some victims of the heavy rains that flooded sections of the island in May. This as Buying House Cement, a Jamaican company that commercialises Anchor Cement and belonging to Domicem, donated 5,000 bags of cement to the Government of Jamaica to assist the people affected by the flooding.
The handover took place at Buying House Cement's warehouse in Freeport, Montego Bay, St James, last Thursday.
State minister with responsibility for works, Everald Warmington, received the donation on behalf of Prime Minister Andrew Holness from Oswaldo Oller, vice-president of Domicem.
"As part of our corporate and social responsibility, we felt that we needed to support the people in these moments of need," said Oller.
Domicem has been importing cement into the country for the past 10 years and continues to be a part of Jamaica's development.
