Several casualties in Mandela Highway crash

Police sources have confirmed at least six casualties in a motor vehicle collision along the Mandela Highway around 8:30 Wednesday night. 

However, the Jamaica Constabulary Force's Corporate Communications Unit was unable to say how many of the victims have died.

Rescuers were attempting to free a pregnant woman who remained trapped in one of the vehicles involved in the incident.

Persons on the scene described the sight of severed body parts around the crash site while a massive traffic pile up left motorists unable to move for as long as an hour.
