The battle for NW St Andrew | JLP's Nigel Clarke declared winner to retain seat for governing party

The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP's) Dr Nigel Clarke has been declared the winner of the St Andrew North West by-election.

Final votes:

Dr. Nigel Clarke (JLP) - 4,448 or 61%
Keisha Hayle (PNP) - 2,812 or 39%
112 of 112 boxes counted

Clarke is an economist, entrepreneur and businessman. 

The by-election became necessary following the resignation of Derrick Smith in January after 29 years as the Member of Parliament for St Andrew North West.
