United States President Donald Trump says a deal with North Korea is in the making.
The announcement was made today in a message posted on Twitter one day after Trump revealed that he had agreed to meet with his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong-un.
No sitting US president has ever met a North Korean leader.
Media reports say Trump’s decision has caused confusion among senior White House staffers and has left some observers stunned.
White House Press Secretary, Sarah Sanders, told reporters on Friday that the President would not meet with his North Korean counterpart unless Pyongyang took concrete actions to halt its nuclear weapons programme.
