The Joint Select Committee of Parliament examining the Sexual Offences Act and related laws will meet on May 11 and 12 to complete its review of the statutes.

At a planning meeting of the committee this afternoon in Gordon House, Committee Chairman Delroy Chuck said lawmakers will be given a matrix of the various submissions made by members of the public.

Chuck said committee members will be required to vote on recommendations that will form part of the report to be submitted to Parliament.

Parliamentarians will get an opportunity to debate the report in the House of Representatives.

The committee also reviewed the Offences Against the Person Act, the Domestic Violence Act and the Child Care and Protection Act.
