Published:Thursday | July 26, 2018 | 4:10 PM

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising that sections of Black River in St Elizabeth will be closed this weekend.

The NWA says the closure, which will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27 to 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018, is to facilitate the observation of Black River Day in the parish.

Traffic changes:

* Church Street as well as a section of North Street, from its intersection with High Street, to Church Station Alley, in the vicinity of the Hometime Cable Office, will be closed.

* School Street, which runs from High Street to the Jamaica Public Service office, will accommodate two-way traffic. This will be for vehicles travelling along High Street from the direction of the Black River Hospital.

*Market Street will be converted to a one-way from the direction of the Black River Bridge and also from Luana.

* Traffic travelling from the west on High Street into Black River will be diverted onto Exchange Drive, through New Town, onto Central Road, and into Black River Town.

Motorists are being urged to proceed with caution and to obey the directions of signs.
