'Chucky' Brown Trial | First witness testifies
The first witness in the trial for police constable Collis 'Chucky' Brown took to the stand this morning to recount the incident on January 10, 2009 in which Robert 'Gutty' Dawkins was murdered.
Brown is indicted on charges stemming from separate incidents in 2009 and 2012 in which Robert 'Gutty' Dawkins, Dwayne Douglas and Andrew Fearon were shot and killed.
The witness said that he along with the deceased and two other men visited a bar in Palmer's Cross, Clarendon where he saw a grey Nissan Probox motor vehicle parked along the main road.
He further told the court that he and the other three men noticed another vehicle, this time a white station wagon motorcar.
He said that after having a conversation with 'Gutty' he made several attempts to look inside the white motorcar.
The prosecution will continue its questioning of the witness at 2 p.m.
Brown is said to have been a part of a syndicate of police personnel which is alleged to have carried out extrajudicial killings.
He has been in custody since 2012.
