November 14 committal hearing for St James teacher in freak car crash
Kerry-Ann Cunningham, the St James teacher who is charged in relation to the death of seven year old Anchovy Primary School student Easton Stapleton, will undergo a committal hearing on November 14 for her case to go before the St James Circuit Court.
The date was set when Cunningham, who is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, reappeared in the St James Parish Court today.
Presiding parish judge Sandria Wong-Small also extended her bail.
The committal hearing will see Cunningham’s case being transferred from the parish court to the circuit court, where she is expected to stand trial.
It is reported that about 4:00 p.m on June 12 Cunningham was on the compound of the school and was reversing her when she lost control of the vehicle.
The car struck the schoolboy and subsequently crashed into a wall.
A section of the damaged wall fell injuring a vendor.
