Female cop conned and robbed
Police investigators are now probing a case where a 25-year-old female cop was conned and robbed in downtown Kingston late last week.
The Sunday Gleaner understands that the policewoman was walking along Kings Street in downtown Kingston when she was approached by a man who offered to sell her items of clothing.
The policewoman told the man she was interested and he used his cellular phone to call another woman, who said she has the items at a reasonable price.
After speaking with the woman, the female cop agreed to follow the man to a business place in Greenwich Farm where the clothes were being held.
The two took a bus to Greenwich Farm, but instead of taking her to the seller, the man pulled a knife and held her up before taking her cellular phone, $22,000 in cash and a Jamaica Police Cooperative Credit Union debit card.
