Two killed, four injured in Olympic Gardens, St Andrew

The Olympic Gardens Police are probing the murders of two men and the injuring of four others – one of whom is a policeman - during a shooting incident on Tower Hill Avenue in Olympic Gardens, St Andrew on Wednesday.

Those killed have been identified as 29-year-old Andre Reid of Alloy Avenue, Kingston 11 and 21-year-old Ackeem Ffrench of Poinciana Avenue, Kingston 11.

The police report that about 11:20 a.m. a group of men were along the roadway when a car with four men drove up.

It is reported that they exited the vehicle and opened gunfire on the group.

Reid, Ffrench and three other men were shot.

According to the police, moments later two cops who were travelling in a private motor car were also fired on by the gunmen.

One of the cops received a gunshot wound to his hand.

All six injured persons were taken to hospital where Reid and Ffrench were pronounced dead.

The injured cop was treated and released while the other three men were admitted in stable condition.

The police say they are working to find the perpetrators responsible for the attack.
