52 new COVID-19 cases, one more death

One more COVID-19 death has been recorded in Jamaica, increasing the tally to 2,407.

The health ministry says the deceased is a 70-year-old St Thomas woman who died on December 2.

And one more fatality is under investigation, moving that figure to 344.

Meanwhile, there were 52 new cases with ages ranging from 10 months to 95 years, pushing the total to 91,421.

Of the new infections, 34 are women and 17 are men.

* St Ann - 3   
* St Catherine - 2
* Manchester - 2  
* St Elizabeth - 1  
* Westmoreland - 1  
* St Thomas - 1

* Hanover - 0
* Portland - 0 
* St Mary - 0  

A total of 1,157 tests were conducted.

The country's positivity rate stands at 5.2%.

In the meantime, there were 77 more recoveries, increasing the total to 62,824.

Some 126 persons are in hospital with 17 being moderately ill, 17 severely ill and nine critically ill.

And 43,915 persons are at home in quarantine.
