Carlton Davis launches his autobiography, ‘My Life’
AMONG THE capacity audience were some members of previous People’s National Party (PNP) governments. They were there to support former PNP Cabinet Secretary Carlton Davis at the launch of his book, My Life, at King’s House in St Andrew on the evening of Thursday, March 7.
Former Prime Minister P.J. Patterson was the guest speaker. Former Opposition leader Dr Peter Phillips was seated beside him, and former Finance Minister Omar Davies was the master of ceremonies. Former Education Minister Burchell Whiteman and his wife were also in the house, likewise former Education Minister Ronald Thwaites.
Former Governor General Sir Kenneth Hall sat across from Governor General Sir Patrick Allen, who addressed the audience. Publisher of the book, Ian Randle, and the author himself also gave their remarks. Other relatives of Carlton Davis were also present.
Entertainment was provided by Trio Ambiance (Peter Ashbourne on violin, Rosina Moder on recorder, and Shawn Richards on guitar), soprano Christine McDonald accompanied by pianist Steven-Shawn Naar, who also gave an instrumental musical tribute to Carlton Davis. Media personality Fae Ellington read Robert Frost’s poem, The Road Not Taken, specially requested by Davis.
