Two St James men charged over gun seized during traffic stop
The Granville police have charged two men over the seizure of a gun during a traffic stop along Chambers Drive in Granville, St James on Monday.
Charged with possession of prohibited weapon are 22-year-old labourer Linval Watson, otherwise called 'Bryan' of King district in Anchovy, and 20-year-old entrepreneur Joshua Bell of Pasture Drive, Portobello, both in the parish.
Reports are that about 1 p.m., lawmen signalled a Nissan Sylphy motor car, with Watson and Bell aboard, to stop during an operation.
The police engaged them and they began acting in a manner which aroused the lawmen's suspicion.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and the firearm was found beneath the front passenger seat.
Both men were taken into custody and subsequently charged.
Their court date is being finalised.
