The police are advising that heavy rainfall on Friday has rendered several roadways in the Golden Grove area of St Thomas impassable.

They say the Martha River, Stokes Hall and Hordley roads are flooded.

Additionally, the Martha Brae main road is impassable.

The police say there are also reports that the bridge connecting the communities of Cheswick and Dalvey, near China's Lawn in the parish, has been destroyed by floodwaters.

Motorists are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and use alternative routes.
