Four charged for ammunition seized in Santa Cruz
Four men have been charged following investigations into the seizure of ammunition during a spot check operation along Main Street, Santa Cruz in St Elizabeth.
Twenty-seven-year-old chef Horatio Thompson, also called 'Flex' and 'Muskeeno' of Leith Hall, St Thomas; 24-year-old Extor Beason, otherwise called 'Daw' and 'Tweet' of Old Pera, St Thomas; Chandu Williams, also called 'Skull' and 'Andre' of Leith Hall, St Thomas; and Rento Gregory, also called 'Black' and 'Ren', of Denham Town, Kingston 14, are all charged with unauthorised possession of ammunition.
The police say at 12:05 a.m. on January 29, a 2010 grey Honda Stepwagon was spotted along Main Street with the four suspects aboard.
The driver, Horatio Thompson, was signalled to stop and when he did the four men and the motor vehicle were searched by the police.
The police say a brown bag that was seen on the floor of the motor vehicle was found to contain four live nine millimetre cartridges.
The men were subsequently charged in relation to the ammunition.
Thompson was also charged for breaches of the Road Traffic Act, with the police reporting he had no driver's licence or insurance coverage.
