A St Catherine man was today found guilty of the rape of his then 15-year-old neighbour.

The 58-year-old was remanded for sentencing in the St Catherine Circuit Court on September 19.

The Crown led evidence that on February 11, 2015, the man invited the then-teen girl over to his house and raped her.

She related her ordeal to a relative, and a report was made to the police's Center for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.

An investigation was launched, and the man was arrested and charged with rape.

His trial started on Monday before Justice Dale Palmer.
