18-y-o charged for shooting man attending St Andrew wake
Eighteen-year-old St Andrew resident Roy Dallas, otherwise called ‘Royo’, has been charged for shooting a man who was attending a wake.
Dallas is charged with wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of prohibited ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.
The shooting happened at the intersection of Richie Lane and White Lane, Kingston 11 on Friday, January 23.
Reports from the Hunts Bay police are that about 10:15 p.m., the complainant was attending a wake along Richie Lane when he left briefly to make a purchase.
While returning, he was allegedly confronted by Dallas, who opened fire, injuring him.
The police say the complainant managed to drive himself to hospital, where he received medical treatment.
The incident was reported to the police, and an investigation was launched.
Investigations led to the arrest of Dallas.
He was charged following a question -and-answer interview in the presence of his attorney.
His court date is being finalised.
