Update | Soldier killed in Waltham Park Road gun attack identified
The soldier who was killed in a gun attack along Waltham Park Road in St Andrew on Tuesday night has been identified.
He is 24-year-old Daniel Crawford of Spaldings, Clarendon.
The police had reported that around 9:00 p.m., Crawford and a policeman, who were off duty, were driving along the roadway when the vehicle they were travelling in developed mechanical problems.
It was further reported that while they were attending to the vehicle, gunshots rang out.
The soldier was shot.
He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The policeman was reportedly doing okay and is assisting the investigation, which is ongoing.
