Deported St Catherine man remanded on shooting, gun charges
A man recently deported to Jamaica to face serious gun charges was remanded when he appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court on Friday.
Akeem Jackson, otherwise called 'Bobo Sparks', 31, is charged with shooting with intent, malicious destruction of property, illegal possession of firearm, possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit an offence.
When he appeared before Senior Parish Court Judge Desiree Alleyne, the matter was transferred to the High Court Division of the Gun Court.
He is to return to court on March 20.
Allegations are that about 3:20 a.m. on September 28, 2016, Jackson and other men armed with guns invaded a woman’s house in Twickenham Park, St Catherine.
The men reportedly sprayed the house with bullets, but the occupants escaped unharmed.
Police said Jackson had been listed as wanted before travelling to The Bahamas, where he was apprehended during what investigators described as an intelligence-driven operation.
He was recently deported to Jamaica and subsequently charged.
