St Catherine court rules men held allegedly with cocaine on highway should stand trial

St Andrew residents Errol White and John Todd, who were held allegedly with cocaine along a highway, are to stand trial as a judge in the St Catherine Parish Court has ruled that they have a case to answer.

White and Todd are charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, trafficking cocaine, and conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

In court on Wednesday, Parish Court Judge Courtney Maxwell told the defence that a prima facie case was made out against the accused.

It was decided that they are to stand trial on June 5.

The accused are being represented by attorney Orville Morgan.

Allegations are that about 3:30 p.m. on July 10, 2025, police personnel from the Firearms Narcotics Investigation Division conducted an operation along the North South Highway in St Catherine, and a Honda motor car with White and Todd aboard was intercepted.

According to the police, during a search, several packages resembling cocaine were discovered.

Both men were arrested on suspicion and were formally charged after being questioned.
