Epican Herb Curb, a hit at Rebel Salute 2019
This year's Rebel Salute event got an infusion of excitement and education from Jamaica's largest cannabis brand, Epican.
The two-day reggae festival brought thousands of reggae music lovers to Grizzly's Plantation Cove in St Ann. The show, usually dominated by industry stalwarts, saw an eclectic mix of veteran and young talent on night one, featuring performances from Dawn Penn, Ras Shiloh, Tony Rebel, Cocoa Tea, Wayne Marshall, Koffee, and others. Topped only by night two, which featured Agent Sasco, Jesse Royal, Nesbeth, Half Pint, Yellow Man, and other local music legends.
An added bonus to an exceptional line-up and festival atmosphere included the Herb Curb.sponsored by Epican, is a designated area through which the business of Cannabis is displayed; and recreational, medicinal and therapeutic avenues are explored.
"Sponsoring the herb curb this year ties directly into the Epican mandate to Educate, Medicate, and Elevate. In educating and elevating the population, we try to dispel some of the negative connotations that have been attached to cannabis as a product and share some of the many positives.
Our mission for Rebel Salute was to familiarise patrons with the brand, our wide variety of products and of course, helping to change the outlook of some that may not be as receptive,î shared head of marketing, Epican Jamaica, Jermaine Bibbons.
"We've pulled out all the stops to ensure we present a well-packaged product and we're covering all the bases. The local cannabis industry has grown leaps and bounds, but we still have a long way to go. Epican is hoping to advance that process as best as possible," he added.
The Epican lounge featured, THC and CBD oil displays, Epican T-shirts and a complementary massage area for guests. The mini setup mimics the Brand's rustic Kingston location with a similar look and feel. Located at Market Place on Constant Spring Road in St Andrew, Epican, promises major expansion with upcoming locations in Falmouth and Montego Bay.
