Gassan Azan lauds St Patrick's Foundation
Gassan Azan, head of Bashco Trading Company Limited and MegaMart Wholesale Club, has lauded the work of Monsignor Richard Albert and St Patrick's Foundation. He expressed the words of praise when he was guest speaker at the foundation's awards presentation and dinner at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston on Thursday, March 17.
Describing Monsignor Albert as a servant of peace, an advocate for the poor and a motivator, Mr Azan said, "the commitment of the church to the spiritual and material welfare of the Jamaican people is expressed daily in the work of St Patrick's Foundation."
He noted that the facilities operated by the foundation helped to alleviate human suffering and offered support to people in poor communities, empowering them to become more self-reliant and responsible citizens.
The businessman also commended the teachers, sponsors and volunteers who made the foundation's work possible. He said he was satisfied that the skill training offered to young people in construction, garment manufacturing, personal services and information technology are certified by the Human Employment and Resource Training (HEART), and relate closely to the needs of the labour market.
Several members of the business community received plaques for their contribution to the foundation.
