CORPORATE HANDS - Tastee gives to UHWI
The paediatric ward at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) received a timely donation during the Christmas season. Patty giant Tastee donated JA$1 million worth of equipment and supplies to the ward on Tuesday, December 23.
At a brief handover ceremony held on ward 15, Tastee's Group COO, Ryan Foster, said, "The ward is very special to me as I have personally experienced the high level of care that was extended to my son during his time on the ward. This ward has done a lot for children all over Jamaica and we wanted to give back to them in a meaningful way."
CEO at the UHWI, Dr Cecil White, thanked Tastee for the generous donation and noted that it would greatly improve the delivery of care. Items donated include nine IV stands, five panel screens, two examination tables, two infusion pumps, two pulse oximeters, and one medication cart. Tastee has committed to donate $1 million each year over the next three years, to the ward.
