Elaine Thompson was simply brilliant as she equalled Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s national 100m record as she blazed to the finish line in the women’s 100m final in 10.70 (+0.3m/s).
Thompson, who had earlier sounded a warning with a 10.85-second semi-final win, again over Fraser-Pryce, left the Olympic champion, who has been struggling with a toe injury, well into second in 10.93 seconds.
Christania Williams was third in 10.97 seconds with former national champion Veronica Campbell-Brown fourth in 11.10 and Simone Facey fifth in 11.11.
