Petrojam fuels JIIM

Jamaica's sole oil refinery, Petrojam Limited, continued its support of the Jamaica International Invitational Meet (JIIM) with a $5 million donation on Wednesday.
"Petrojam's sponsorship of the Jamaica International Invitational Meet spans five years, and we have been quite pleased with the results of this partnership, which has provided a platform for showcasing many local and international talents," stated Latoya Pennant, public relations officer, Petrojam Ltd.
"We want to enhance youth and sport development. We want to create a positive experience for athletes, giving them the confidence to take part at a high level and go on to become our next generation of volunteers, coaches, and organisers of sporting events such as these," added Pennant.
The line-up for this year's meet includes double Olympic sprint champion Elaine Thompson, world- rated sprinter Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria, 400m hurdles specialists, Olympic champion Kerron Clement of the United States, and Jamaica's Jaheel Hyde. Clement is also a two-time World champion in the event.
