Five time world champions Brazil lost to Belgium 2-0 in their quarter-final encounter in the FIFA World Cup at the Kazan Arena in Kazan, Russia this afternoon.

Tite's side conceded an own goal in the 13th minute when Vincent Kompany's header from a corner kick was deflected in off Fernandinho, who was credited with the own goal.

The lead was doubled in minute 31 when Belgium counter attacked and Romelu Lukaku saw teammate Kevin de Bruyne unmarked to his right. The midfielder powerfully beat goalkeeper Allison at his far post.

Brazil applied pressure in the second half and it paid off with substitute Renato Augusto getting a consolation goal from a header in the 76th minute.

The win puts Belgium into their first semi-final since 1986 and they will now meet France, who blanked Uruguay 2-0 earlier in the day.
