ANOTHER BULLET (Shane Ellis up) powering home in the Caribbean Sprint Championship feature at Caymanas Park yesterday.

ANOTHER BULLET closed a three-timer for trainer Patrick Lynch with a powerful stretch run to outfinish speedy MR UNIVERSE in yesterday’s Caribbean Sprint, winning the six-furlong event by a length and three-quarter.

Hounded by EXHILARATE from the off, MR UNIVERSE was never allowed to settle in torrid splits of 22.3 and 45.1 with PEKING CRUZ in third and ANOTHER BULLET stalking from fourth.

Approaching the home turn, jockey Shane Ellis shifted ANOTHER BULLET inside of PEKING CRUZ and took aim at the leaders after straightening.

Going past EXHILARATE a furlong out, ANOTHER BULLET reeled in MR UNIVERSE a half-furlong out and powered home in a final time of 1:12.2.

Lynch, who earlier won back-to-back races with ADORING LADY and MORNING STAR in the second and third events, shared honours on the 10-race card with leading trainer, Anthony Nunes, who reeled off three consecutive winners, SHE’S SYMBOLIC, TRICKY ONE and REASSURANCE.

Nunes started his assault from the fourth event, combining with apprentice Reyan Lewis aboard 3-5 favourite, SHE’S SYMBOLIC, who took over the one-mile race, for non-winners-of-three, from three furlongs out and repelled DEZZY THE GENIUS to the wire.

Returning aboard TRICKY ONE, a 1-9 favourite, Lewis stalked rivals down the backstretch and had no problems overpowering BLOOD FIRE, PURPLE WAYNE and long-time leader, SAN SIRO, to run out a comfortable winner at nine furlongs and 25 yards.

STRONG CLOSE

Nunes replaced an overweight Lewis with leading rider, Christopher Mamdeen, aboard REASSURANCE, a decision which paid off when the six-year-old mare closed strongly to nab 18-1 outsider, CUE THREE, by a nose at the wire, giving the apprentice his second winner of the day after scoring with MORNING STAR.

Trainer Gary Subratie’s WOW WOW impressively won the six-and-a-half furlong Juvenile Sprint co-feature at odds of 1-9 in a smashing 1:19.0 on a wet track, establishing himself as the favourite for December’s Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes following his demolition of ENGLAND’S ROSE on September 21.

Subratie returned to stun bettors with 45-1 outsider, CRIMSON, in the following event, running on from off the pace, at seven and a half furlongs, with champion jockey Anthony Thomas.

Racing continues this afternoon with the 10-furlong Superstakes and Invitational Mile as feature races in which champion trainer Wayne DaCosta’s SHE’S A MANEATER and STRANGER DANGER are ante-post favourites.
