TG hunt home win against Waterhouse
High-riding Tivoli Gardens and league leaders Waterhouse will square off in a rescheduled Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) match at the Edward Seaga Complex this afternoon at 3 p.m.
Victory for Tivoli could push them into a top six playoff spot, however, defeat for Waterhouse means they will only be just one point ahead of second-place Mount Pleasant going into Sunday’s round of games.
After 14 matches, Tivoli Gardens, had only secured three wins for the season while Waterhouse were flying high with 10 wins from their 14 starts.
However, in the last three weeks, the fortunes of both clubs have changed somewhat, and Waterhouse have not taken maximum points from any of their last three outings.
Tivoli Gardens, meanwhile, have won three straight matches to equal the number of victories they had under their belts in a positive run of form.

However, despite Tivoli’s better run of form, Waterhouse will go into the game as favourites based on their consistency over the season.
Tivoli will look to in-form striker Newton Sterling, who scored in his last two matches, to lead them to victory, along with Davion Garrison, who bagged a brace in the team’s 3-2 win over Cavalier on Monday.
However, Waterhouse boast three on the league’s leading scorers in Colorado Murray, who leads the league with nine goals, along with teammates Kenroy Howell and Stephen Williams on six each. Captain Keithy Simpson has also chipped in with an unusual and impressive tally this season, with five goals already to his name.
Waterhouse will be keen on taking home all three points as victory would see them stretching their one-point lead at the top to four points going in to Sunday’s 19th round of matches.
However, Tivoli coach Philip Williams says they also want three points and warned that his team would look to make the most of their home advantage.
“Waterhouse is a different kettle of fish in terms of how they play and the quality they have. It’s going to be a rough game, but we are playing at home, and we want to win our home games so we are looking to make our home advantage count,” said Williams.
“We want to get ourselves from where we are in the table, and winning against Waterhouse will move us from where we are. We are playing at home, and we need three points, and we are going for the three points when we meet this Waterhouse team,” he said.
Meanwhile, fans attending the game will only be required to pay half price, according to Premier League Clubs Association (PLCA) general manager, Pat Garel.
The original fixture between the teams on December 1 was called off after only one of three match officials assigned to the game showed up for the contest due to a strike by the Premier League officials on the day.
