Victory for Ricketts in Monaco Diamond League
National champion Shanieka Ricketts produced a distance of 14.75m as she won the women's triple jump at the Monaco leg of the Wanda Diamond League on Friday afternoon.
Ricketts defeated reigning world champion Yulimar Rojas of Venezuela, who produced a mark of 15.12m, but based on World Athletics' rule change for the Diamond League this season, the final effort of the top three jumpers were taken into consideration for the placings. Portugal's Patricia Mamona was third with a national record of 14.66m. Jamaica's Kimberly Williams jumped 14.50m for fifth.
National sprint double champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce finished third in the women's 200m. She clocked 22.48 seconds, behind winner Shaunae Miller-Uibo (22.23) of the Bahamas, and the Ivory Coast's Marie-Josée Ta Lou, second in a season's best 22.25.

She was beaten by Laura Muir (1:56.73), and Jemma Reekie (1:56.96), both of Great Britain, in first and second respectively, and the United States' (US) Kate Grace (1:57.20). All three clocked personal bests.
Tajay Gayle was the other Jamaican in action and although he clocked a season's best of 8.29m in the men's long jump, he was only good enough for second.
