Jamaica's team of Junelle Bromfield, Roneisha McGregor, Janieve Russell and Stacey Ann Williams qualified comfortably for the Women's 4x400m relay final at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan on Thursday.

The Jamaicans clocked a season's best (SB) time of 3:21.95 minutes to place second, behind the United States' team of Kaylin Whitney, Wadeline Jonathas, Kendall Ellis and Lynna Irby who ran an SB 3:20.86.

Great Britain and Northern Ireland's Emily Diamond, Zoey Clark, Laviai Nielsen and Nicole Yeargin took the third automatic spot in an SB 3:23.99 minutes.

The Netherlands, in a national record (NR) 3:24.01, and Canada (SB 3:24.05) were fourth and fifth respectively to take the two fastest loser spots in the final.

The other semi-final was won by Poland (SB 3:23.10), with Cuba (SB 3:24.04), and Belgium (NR 3:24.08) qualifying in second and third respectively.

The final takes place on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. (7:30 a.m. Jamaica time).
