The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) says nine persons in the national team at the World Athletics Under 20 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya have tested positive for COVID-19.
The JAAA says four tested positive earlier in the week and five returned positive results in the final set of tests done before travelling on Monday.
All persons with the virus are however asymptomatic and in isolation. As such, they, and the team's medical personnel who have stayed behind with them, will remain in Nairobi until September 2.
The rest of the contingent is however on its way home.
