England thrash Bangladesh at T20 World Cup
England made it two wins from as many games at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup with an eight-wicket win over Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, yesterday.
England restricted Bangladesh to 124-9 in what was a strong fielding showing.
Moeen Ali took two wickets in two balls in the third over, Tymal Mills claimed three for 27, and Liam Livingstone two for 15, and Adil Rashid produced some acrobatics to take a catch, and also contributed with a run-out.
Jason Roy, 61 from 38 balls, and Dawid Malan, 28 not out, were the top batsmen as England achieved their target with 35 balls remaining.
England lead Group 1 heading into their next match, with rivals Australia, in Dubai on Saturday at 9 a.m.
England bowled out the West Indies for 55 runs in their opening match on Saturday.
In the other game on the day, Namibia left it to the final over to get a win over Scotland in Group 2.
The Namibians, like the Scots, are making their debut at the tournament.
Set a target of 110 by Scotland, they completed the chase with five balls to spare.
