Jamaica’s Lamara Distin and Kimberley Williamson have both advanced to the final of the Women’s High Jump at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday.

Distin, who is ranked fourth in the world this year, with a best mark of 1.97m, secured her place in the final after clearing the bar at 1.90m while competing in Group A.

Williamson, who defeated national record holder Distin to win the JAAA National Championships last month, also secured her place in the final, after also clearing the bar at 1.90 from Group B.

Italy's Elena Vallortigara of Italy, Uzbekistan's Safina Sadullayeva, who had a season's best height, Iryna Gerashchenko and Yaroslava Mahuchikh of Ukraine, Australia's Eleanor Patterson, and Romania's Daniela Stanciu all advanced at 1.93m.

The final takes place on Tuesday at 7:40 p.m.
