World U-20 | Levell progresses to men’s 200 metres semis
Jamaica Bryan Levell advanced to the semi-finals of the men’s200 metres as he placed third in heat three at the World Under-20 Championshipson Wednesday at thePascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium in Cali, Colombia.
Levell completed the race in 20.85 seconds. It was won by Muhd Azeem Fahmi, who ran a Malaysian national Under-20 record of 20.83 seconds with Australian Aidan Murphy placing second in 20.85.
Levell, who did not compete at the National Championships because of an injury, did all he had to do to qualify in one of the three automatic spots from the heat, as Fahmi ran the curve hard to enter the home stretch in the lead, before easing down towards the end.
Jamaica’s other representative in the men’s 200 metres, Sandrey Davison did not report to the start of heat four. Davison picked up an injury in the semi-finals of the men’s 100 metres on Tuesday.
