World U-20 | Lawrence, Young progress to men's discus final

Jamaica's pair of Christopher Young and Kobe Lawrence advanced to the final of the men's discus at the World Under-20 Championships at the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium in Cali, Colombia on Friday.

Both progressed as non-automatic qualifiers with Young, in Group A, throwing a distance of 56.74 metres and Lawrence doing 57.18 in Group B.

Lawrence has the 10th best distance going into the final with Young being the worst of the 12 finalists.

Ukraine's Mykhailo Brudin has the best throw with a personal best of 61.47 metres. He is followed by Germany's Mika Sosna with 61.00 and Greece's Dimitrios Pavlidis with a personal best of 60.73.
