WITH THE World Cup in full swing, Argentina losing and Portugal winning their first games, we asked the schoolboy football fraternity if a World Cup title for Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo would settle the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) debate once and for all.

Maquan Aldridge, striker at Jamaica College

“I think if Cristiano Ronaldo wins the World Cup it would settle the debate on who the best player of all time is.”

Philip Williams, head coach St Andrew Technical High School

“I’ve never lost myself in the debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Both are exceptional footballers and there should not be any debate about who is better.”

Marques Reid, Clarendon College

“Yes it will. I think Messi has the best chance to win it”

Chaldean Powell, Central High

“No, I don’t think so. Messi is the GOAT already.”

Alexavier Gooden, St Andrew Technical High School

“I don’t think so because the two of them are the best. You cannot compare them.”

Zidane Christie, Central High

“I would go with Messi. Of the two I think his team has the better odds to win.”
