Sprint icon Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is 2023 Laureus Sportswoman of the Year
Five-time world 100m champion Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce has been named 2023 Laureus Sportswoman of the Year.
Fraser-Pryce was given the award at today's Laureus World Sport Awards in Paris.
The honour comes after a 2022 season in which she won her fifth world title in a championship record of 10.67 seconds as well as her fifth Diamond League title. Fraser-Pryce also clocked seven sub 10.7 second times in 2022.
Fraser-Pryce is the second Jamaican woman to win the award and ensures that it remains in Jamaican hands after double sprint Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah won it last year.
Fraser Pryce is expected to open her season this week at the Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi Kenya.
