Jamaica’s Andrew Hudson, after earning a medical exemption to be in the final of the World Athletics Championships 200 metres, found the pace of the United States’ Noah Lyles and Co, too hot to handle.

Hudson ended eighth in 20.40 seconds as Lyles finished up at the other end of the field in a fast 19.52 seconds.

Second was the United States’ Erriyon Knighton in a more-than-respectable 19.75, while Botwana’s Letsile Tebogo copped a bronze medal in 19.81.

Great Briatain’s Zharnel Hughes finished off the podium in 20.02, while Canadian veteran, Andre De Grasse was sixth in 20.14, behind the United States’ Kenneth Bednarek, 20.07.

The Dominican Republic’s Alexander Oganda, 20.23, finished ahead of Hudson, who in turn got the better of Liberia’s Joseph Fahbulleh, 20.57.
