JAMAICAN INTERNATIONAL Shamar Nicholson is on the move again, having inked a loan deal, on transfer deadline day, with Ligue One outfit, Clermont.

The deal, set for the rest of the season, will see Nicholson moving from Russian club Spartak Moscow.

The 26-year-old Nicholson, during his time in Russia, featured in 30 games for Spartak Moscow across two seasons, netting eight goals, three of which came in the 2022/23 Premier League Season. This latest stint will become Nicholson’s fourth European club since leaving local team Boys’ Town in 2017, having enjoyed stints at NK Domzale in Slovenia and Belgian club Charleroi, where he had his best outing, scoring 30 goals while featuring in 76 matches.

Nicholson, named in the Senior Reggae Boyz’ Concacaf Nations League squad, will join a Clermont team who are currently bottom of the Ligue One table, having suffered three straight defeats to start their season. Last season, they finished eighth.
