Tomato's anticancer power
Tomato's anticancer power
Dear Ms Thompson,
I read with rapt interest your article, 'Tomato's anti-cancer power' on April 28. Your opening sentences were spot on. I didn't like broccoli the first time I tasted it. I have since acquired a palate for it and many other foods. I lost my father to prostate cancer last year. I am aware of the probability of myself having cancer later on.
I do eat a lot of anti-cancer foods such as tomatoes, broccoli, avocados, salmon, sardines (so-called poor people food), hot peppers, water melons and olive oil. I eat a lot of nuts as well. I have a little nut case which I take with me to work and I am always munching away whilst working. I have cut down on my red meat intake. I am mainly a fish and chicken man. In addition to all this, I have a lovely girlfriend who looks after me. I like your articles. Keep up the good work and have a good day.

Arthritis pain
Dear Ms McDaniel,
I saw your article on arthritis on April 14 and found it interesting as I am afflicted with this disease in every joint in my body. I am now suffering from temporal mandibular joint syndrome (or temporo-mandibular joint disorder or TMJ) as a result of osteoarthritis. My questions are: Is there something besides glucosamine and chondroitin and fish oil that will help? Do glucosamine and chondroitin really grow back the cartilage? And my greatest hope, will I ever be able to chew again?
With my best regards
- Natalie
