Coke's 'old' friend held
JUSTIN 'STINGY' O'Gilvie, the man the Police High Command describes as a long-time associate and close ally of west Kingston strongman-now-turned-fugitive Christopher 'Dudus' Coke is now in police custody.
O'Gilvie was being interrogated by senior members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force yesterday, even as the police and military intensified their search for Coke, the reputed leader of the Shower Posse whose tentacles spread beyond the shores of Jamaica.
O'Gilvie was reportedly picked up by senior detectives from the Flying Squad at the weekend.
However, the lawmen have refused to divulge any further information on how Coke's key business associate was apprehended.
O'Gilvie, a director of Incomparable Enterprise Limited and a member of the Presidential Click entity in which Coke also has business interests, is often viewed as the man who represents the 'President' in public.
It is not the first time that O'Gilvie has been detained by the police. In October 2005, Coke and O'Gilvie were taken into police custody at their upper St Andrew homes in October 2005 following a major police-military operation in Tivoli Gardens.
The operation was carried out to search for wanted men who were reportedly linked to the killing of three policemen in May 2005.
Coke and his girlfriend were arrested and charged for possession of a marijuana spliff. O'Gilvie was released without being charged, while Coke and his girlfriend were released after posting $20,000 bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.
