- Five appointed to Casino Commission
The Cabinet has endorsed the appointment of five members to the Casino Gaming Commission.
Minister with responsibility for Information, Daryl Vaz, said during yesterday's post-Cabinet meeting at Jamaica House that the members were endorsed at the June 7 meeting of Cabinet.
They are insurance executive and horse racing enthusiast Dennis Lalor; digital printing businessman Mark Roberts; attorneys-at-law Afeef Lazarus and Dennis Edmunds; and chartered accountant and deputy chairman of Caymanas Track Ltd, Rafael Gordon.
- EXPO opens today
The three-day biennial trade show EXPO Jamaica 2010 gets under way today at the National Arena with an official opening and buyers' reception at 5 p.m.
The event, jointly hosted by the the Jamaica Manufacturers' Association and the Jamaica Exporters' Association, will open to the public tomorrow through Saturday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
EXPO Jamaica 2010 will feature products ranging from art and craft to food and beverage; chemical; fashion; information and communication technology; minerals and metals; packaging and labelling; and textile and apparel.
