Kingston Wharves Limited has split the functions of chairman and chief executive officer, a dual role formerly held by Grantley Stephenson.

Effective July 1, Stephenson will continue to run the port company as CEO.

Derek Jones, a respected attorney, has been appointed chairman of the company.

Karlene Bailey was also appointed director.

The two appointments follow last year's resignation of Gary Hendrickson and Joseph Sferrazza.

Kingston Wharves is a J$12-billion company by assets, majority owned by National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited, Kingston Port Workers Superannuation Fund and Shipping Association of Jamaica.
