Six alleged St Catherine gangsters charged
THREE ALLEGED members of the feared One Order gang and two alleged lieutenants of the equally notorious Clansman gang, which both operate out of Spanish Town, the St Catherine capital, are among six persons charged yesterday after being detained under the state of emergency.
The other person is an alleged gangster believed to be a senior member of the Unity gang.
All six were on the St Catherine police's most-wanted list and have been linked to several crimes in the parish.
The arrested men include Germaine Morrison, otherwise called 'Speedy', a member of the Clansman gang.
Morrison was detained on June 6 in central Kingston and has been charged with shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm.
The other alleged Clansman mobster is Myron Hawkins, better known as 'Ice', who has been charged with shooting with intent, wounding with intent and illegal possession of a firearm.
Anthony Barrett, alias 'Omar Barrett' and 'Saddleman', who is believed to be a member of the Unity gang, has been charged with shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm.
Damion Grey, who is known on the streets of Spanish Town as 'Saint', and who is believed to be a One Order affiliate, has been charged with shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm.
Another suspected member of the One Order gang, Fitz 'Killi Killi' Donegal, has been charged with murder and absconding bail, while alleged fellow gangster, Winston Halstead, a.k.a. 'Denny-Bibbs', has been charged with murder and arson.
