Rev Al for court today

Head of the Fellowship Tabernacle church, the Reverend Merrick 'Al' Miller, returns to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court today to answer charges of perverting the course of justice as well as harbouring a fugitive.

Miller was slapped with both charges last month after being questioned by the Organised Crime Investigation Division for his role in transporting Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, who had been wanted by the United States government on drug-trafficking and gunrunning charges.

The embattled pastor, who had his $200,000 bail extended when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on July 2, had pleaded not guilty before Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey.

At the last court hearing, prosecutors told the court that Miller had been observed driving on a highway on June 22 during a police dragnet.

According to the prosecution, Miller later identified himself to lawmen who attempted to pull him over twice before he allegedly sped off.

The cops, on pulling over Miller's car shortly afterwards, recognised the disguised passenger the clergyman was transporting as Coke.
