Veteran broadcaster and lecturer at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Fae Ellington, has been appointed interim manager of the Universal Media Company which operates News Talk 93 FM.
The UWI, which is now the sole owner of UMC, said on Monday that a strategy to drive income is now being explored.
Principal of the Mona campus, Professor Gordon Shirley, says the radio station will be returning to core objectives, which include expanding and broadening the listenership of the station; taking advantage of UWI's content portfolio such as conferences, cultural and sporting events, and becoming a financially sustainable operation, according to a press release from UWI.
