Commuters who use the Long Lane main road, adjacent to Old Stony Hill Road, are being asked to continue observing the change in route along that area until roadwork is completed.

The change is to facilitate the laying of drainage pipes on a section of the roadway.

Stephen Shaw, communications manager at the National Works Agency, told The Gleaner yesterday that plans to have the roadway reopened were stalled when heavy showers washed up back fillings used to dump up the area.

He, however, noted that the road should be open for use at an undetermined time today. In the meantime, persons travelling from Junction are asked to turn right on to Parks Road then left onto Old Stony Hill Road, which will take them on to Long Lane.

Persons travelling from Manor Park are asked to use the reverse route.
