Righteous administration brings success
Apostle Steve Lyston, Contributor
Many are asking the question, "What do we do to turn our nation around in all that is happening?"
Some are doing all kinds of research, spending millions of the nation's money to find solutions. But in biblical economics, the main key to growth and development is righteousness - everything starts and ends with righteousness. Proverbs 14: 34 reminds us that "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." Any nation would want to be promoted and experience growth, prosperity and peace - all of which stem from righteousness. No nation wants disgrace.
Many may say that righteousness has nothing to do with the prosperity of a nation because unrighteous nations and administrations prosper. But to everything there is a time and a season! (Ecclesiastes 3) Psalm 85: 10-12, "Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the Lord will give what is good; and our land will yield its increase." Righteousness opens the door for abundance, increase and success!
To be successful in totality
For every private sector, civil government, church or any other leadership to be successful in totality, they must be established by righteousness. (Isaiah 32: 1) Just one leader in the organisation walking in an unrighteous can taint the entire organisation, and allow them to lose the battle. Remember Joshua 7 when the unrighteous manner actions of one person caused the military and the nation to lose the battle.
II Chronicles 15: 2, says "... The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you." Every leader that was and is established is by this condition.
There are three principles in this scripture. Asa, who was king at the time, after God had given him victory turned his back on God. He didn't seek God in his sickness and further to that he made an unholy alliance. He became affiliated with unrighteous nations, and although the enemy retreated and it looked like a success for them, he failed spiritually, lost favour with God and ultimately suffered betrayal and defeat!
Invite the lord
Select managers and leaders must be based on righteousness for prosperity and growth; not popularity and fame.
Every leader should ask the Lord to lead him/her in the path of righteousness, according to Psalm 23: 3.
Leaders must recognise and accept what Proverbs 16: 8 reminds us: "Better is a little with righteousness, than vast revenues without justice."
Keep in mind that all the wealth acquired without righteousness will eventually be lost, because righteousness allows for sustenance.
Give to the poor. Psalm 112: 9 tells us that "He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honour."
Ultimately, what it boils down to is that we must seek after righteousness, aptly summarised in Matthew 6: 33, which says; "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
Righteousness is what the Creator of things uses to evaluate every individual, nation and administration. If each is walking in righteousness, then automatically, the benefits of righteousness will overtake them.
Only righteousness can bring economic blessings, turn around a nation, stop crime and violence, stop wars and bring lasting, positive change. No true change can come if there is no righteousness! A righteous house is built on the rock; an unrighteous one is built on sand!
Lasting, positive change is possible regardless of the situation any individual, organisation, nation or Administration is in, but it first begins with righteousness. The ball is in your court. What will your next move be?
