Listen to the people
The Editor, Sir:
I am disturbed at the statement by Prime Minister Bruce Golding, that he's "listening to the party on what they want for him", as opposed to what they would like for Jamaica, land we love.
I find this upsetting based solely on the fact that, as prime minister, Bruce Golding was hired by the people of Jamaica to do the given task of being the top minister among the ministers of the government. My feeling would have been the same even if the situation was on the Opposition party, as I believe in the slogan 'country first'.
It is, therefore, in the best interest of the prime minister to now listen to Jamaicans, the very same citizens of the country who put him in office and are now respectfully requesting that he steps aside from the role of prime minister in order that the functions and business of the country may go on without these negative distractions.
Mr Golding needs to be listening to the people and not a handful of party members.
I am, etc.,
